Ode To A Side Kick

 Once there was a pseudonym
Who tried to write
But Chance was slim

She got into a pair of socks
My feet are cool
She likes hers hot

And so it was she got her hooks
Onto my keyboard
Into my books

The more I tried to push her free
The more she just
Pushed back at me

I finally made a deal one day
With her, if she’d
Just stay away

She laughed at me and shook her head
And threw our body
Into bed

And so together now we write
Her feet are warm
My writing’s tight

My alter ego is like a friend
Until she starts
To whine again

We have these times when we don’t agree
She lets me know
That we are We

And so this Ode to my side kick
Quill old girl, you
Are one cool chick.
